EducationI graduated in May 2011 from Biola University and the Torrey Honors Institute with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature, achieving a 3.87 GPA. I also spent a semester abroad studying Old and Middle English Literature at the University of Oxford.
ExperienceThroughout school, I have led many class sessions on a variety of authors or topics such as the poetry of T.S. Eliot, the Religious Affections of Jonathan Edwards, Shakespeare's Measure for Measure, and Edith Wharton's The House of Mirth. I am currently a TA for a course on the literature of the American Renaissance. In the Torrey Honors Institute at Biola, I spent hundreds of hours discussing classic texts of Western literature and the ideas they engaged. My time in discussion with others students has led me to believe that dialogue and personal relationship are key to the educational experience. Now that I am graduated, I would like to help other students become more dedicated in their pursuit of knowledge in whatever subject they find most interesting.
HobbiesMy intellectual interests are fairly eclectic, but they tend to be related in various ways to the subjects of philosophy, history, theology, poetry, or literature. My artistic interests tend towards poetry and the visual arts including film. I also enjoy most sports and am a sports fan.
