Experience

While completing my undergraduate coursework I have tutored many private clients in many areas from Elementary level Math and Language Arts to college level Math. For the past year, I have also worked with clients through Varsity Tutors, providing online and in-person tutoring. Also, through the Credential program, I have designed and taught various middle and high school Math lessons. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most experienced and eager in tutoring Math subjects, from Pre-Algebra to Calculus, which comes as no surprise, considering my career endeavor of teaching Math. My experiences have inspired me to exercise my passion for mathematics and learning in the teaching profession. I am familiar with the great sense of accomplishment that comes with being able to finally solve a problem after struggling with it for long periods of time. For me, there is no greater satisfaction than seeing that same feeling of pride in a student and being the one that guided the student to understanding.

Hobbies

Outside of academia, I enjoy singing, reading, working out, hiking, and scrapbooking. I am also an active member of my local church and participate in as many events as I can. I love working with kids and teenagers, as I learn from them as much as they learn from me. Through my experiences in teaching and tutoring, I have learned that having good relationships with my students is just as important as knowing the content and having study strategies. Understanding that every student is different, learns in different ways is essential in being able to provide a good learning experience.
